About Me

Having spent much of his youth growing up on legendary New York venues such as Red Zone, Mars, Limelight and The Tunnel, Sean was exposed to a variety of music and atmospheres that would come to set a precedent for excellence and excitement in nightlife. These early experiences would prove to be the foundation for what the events he plays would come to be. While his musical style continue to grow and evolve; the underlying theme is always to provide an environment that is boundary-pushing, exciting and most importantly; fun.
Known for his RE:FUGE residency at the underground mecca of Le Souk in the heart of New York's Alphabet City, Sean consistently and flawlessly sets the tone with his unique funk-fueled, percussive house sound. Now resident at StimulusResponse (along with Keith Blackstone and Lola) at New York’s number one big room club, Pacha, he continues to passionately procure his signature blend of chunky, jazz-infected, tribal house. His sound can be traced to his years of musical influence growing up in and around the New York house music scene. Sean has proven an uncanny ability to read a dance floor and move the masses with his versatility and percussive climate control.
This year comes the return to more solo efforts for Sean. With a line-up of remixes and original productions, followed by increasingly more solo djing performances this is sure to be another busy year for him.
Sean's sound has played throughout night clubs, radio and music festivals across the US and abroad. Known for his vision and feel for a crowd, Sean is able to understand and play to the likes of today’s most demanding dance floors while maintaining their primary focus. Sean has proudly played along side and received both respect and praise from many of today’s music giants. - Stewart Edwin
About STIMULUS RESPONSE:
The diverse sound of STIMULUS RESPONSE has drawn the attention of many music fans while the movement continues to grow with each event.
Stimulus Response was originally conceived as a one-off event, held at Le Souk on Thanksgiving Eve, 2005. But for anyone there that night, the vibe and cohesion between Lola, The Urban Relief Project, and Keith Blackstone was plain to hear. The budding crew ended the night with a feeling that something special had just happened. So when the opportunity arose to do it again, we did. And did it again, and again, and again.
Stimulus Response, now in its third year, has played throughout New York City at venues including Pacha, Sullivan Room, Sol, Love, and the South Street Seaport, and has performed with and supported talent including: Tedd Patterson, Charles Webster, Miguel Migs, Cevin Fisher, DJ Exacta, Peter Bailey, Richie Santana, Oscar G, Mr. V & Miss Patty, Hector Romero, and Wally Lopez.
The defining element of Stimulus Response is our diversity. We are three DJs (four if you count The Urban Relief Project as two DJs, but we usually view them as a single unit) who together create an offering of sound and music that is at once cohesive yet totally varied. Ranging from deep and tech house to percussive drenched house, progressive, techno, soulful house, classic house, and experimental strains of dance music that can't quite be labeled, an evening with Stimulus Response is an evening dedicated to music, dance, and the love and respect of our beloved dance and nightlife culture.
Held together by the glue that is our promoter and general manager Gabe 'Silverbull' Mayorga, Stimulus Response is more than just a group of DJs: we're a family. This journey is as much one we're on as one we hope to provide to you.
Stimulus Response is:
The Urban Relief Project: Sean Cormac & John Cacciatore (Re:Fuge NYC)
Keith Blackstone (Land of Voodoo)
Lola Rephann (Deep See)
In addition to Stimulus Response, all members are involved in their own projects. Many of these projects came before our involvement in Stimulus Response. Some came after. In either case, all members actively grow as contributors to the whole of Stimulus, and bring our collective 35+ years of nightlife and dance music experience and participation to the ongoing growth and development of the vibe we bring to YOU.
