About Me

My Interests

The current income tax system is broken. It's complicated, easy to evade, and unfairly burdens the lower and middle classes. Patching up the existing code is pointless - previous attempts have only made it worse. It's time for a fresh approach, a fair approach. It's time for the FairTax.
Simply put, the FairTax replaces the way we're currently taxed - based on our annual income - with a tax on goods and services. The FairTax is a voluntary consumption" tax: the more you buy, the more you pay in taxes, the less you buy, the less you pay in taxes. It's simple.
The FairTax replaces the federal income tax system, which taxes what we earn, with a tax on what we spend. The FairTax is a consumption tax: the more you buy, the more you pay in taxes; the less you buy, the less you pay in taxes. So everyone pays fairly when they choose to spend.
The FairTax:
Makes sure everyone pays their fair share
Allows you to keep your entire Social Security, pension or pay check
Untaxes the poor with a rebate on the necessities of life
Protects Social Security and Medicare
Stimulates investment, economic growth and job creation
Wondering why I'm so interested in the FairTax? I'm a middle-class citizen. I make enough to live comfortably, but not so much that I don't have to worry about money. I'd like to save more, but it seems like there are always bills to pay.
Now if the government would give me back that 23 percent they take out of my paycheck, maybe I could acheive that. I don't spend a lot. If I spend money, 65 percent of the time it's on used goods. The other 35 percent is generally for things that cannot or should not be purchased used, such as food. I don't charge a lot. Most of what I charge is on large items such as furniture or electronics where my credit card will double the warranty on the item.
With the FairTax, I wouldn't be taxed on what I make. I would be taxed on what I spend. The FairTax does not tax used good since technically that have already been taxed once. Since most of what I spend is used goods, I wouldn't be taxed on those items. The FairTax also included a prebate. A check to absorb the taxes for necessities. This would pay for the rest of what I spend.
Tired of drug dealers not paying income taxes and driving around in Escalades? Well, under the FairTax, they would be taxed on the Escalade and not the income they legally don't have. I guess it sucks if you're a drug dealer with expensive taste...
Obviously this is just the beginning. Want the whole scoop? Contact me and I'll see about getting you a copy of the FairTax book, written by Congressman John Linder and the semi-infamous Neal Boortz.

I'd like to meet:

I support the FairTax plan (HR 25/S 25).
