Greetings, friend! I was born the last of three children in 1780 in a small, but comfortable, home in Surrey.
When I am not making use of the daylight to do my embroidery, I enjoy making improvements in our flower garden and walking into town for some shopping. Our neighborhood affords a great number of gentle people with whom I am well acquainted and jave the good fortune to actually like:
Miss Frances Porter --
My closest friend in the village. Never has there been such a sweet soul! She excels at sewing and tatting. In the sitting room at her home, the Harley House, we spend hours gossiping -- well, I gossip, she listens nicely. I don't believe I have heard her speak an ill word about anyone!
Miss Jane Young --
She's French (on her mother's side), can't you tell by her hair? She is very elegant and intelligent. I have not yet found one word of which she does not know the definition! Oh, and she gives flawless concerts on her incredibly handsome piano forte. This is her family's gorgeous manor home, Addescombe Place. You have never seen a more lovely ediface! The Youngs have made many impovements to the grounds, and I suppose most would call it "fashionable".
Catherine --
My dear and only sister. She makes me laugh like no one else. When we are left without partners at a ball, we get a little TOO silly sometimes! From the way we act, my poor mother fears we shall never find husbands! When se are not wanted for some task in the home, we escape to our little table in the garden, which Papa has let us design ourselves! Bagshot Park is our beloved abode. Papa has endeavored to keep it the same as it has been for decades, even though there is so much "improvment" being talked about in the country.
