About Me

All songs were produced, performed, composed, arranged, and written by Erique Troi.Back in the days in Akron, Ohio, when bands used to battle for bragging rights, the hottest venues, or to be known as the "hardest working band in the city", this small town 30 minutes south of Cleveland spawned an ecclectic musician, writer, poet, producer, actor by the name of Erique Troi. He started on his way paying his dues at the age of 7 as a drum roadie for his uncle. His uncle at the time was in one of the hottest bands in the city;"Future" while his older cousin was in the horn section of the rival band "Ultimate Choice Band".Between these two bands, Erique couldn't help but listen to the sounds of Confunkshun, Cameo, Parliament-Funkadelic, Jimi Hendrix, Sly and The Family Stone, Earth Wind & Fire. Funk was everywhere he went...Although in the intimacy of his grandma's where his uncle had his drums, his uncle whould say listen to this.....Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, and at the time Metallica was the new band! During concert band in high school, his teacher introduced him to a new technical way of playing music.....Classical.....Strauss and Wagner(Vogner) for starters!Drums (percussion) of course being Erique's first instrument(s). Why not try to go to college doing what he does best....Off to Grambling State University he goes! Here is the "for real" story of drum line. Erique will tell you that they only skimmed the surface. Now he's all grown up and playing many instruments and making many recordings. He has had the chance to play with the likes of George Clinton, George Duke, Randy Crawford, Billy Beck of the Ohio Players, C-Block(Germany), Xavier Naidoo(Germany), Jeanine Love(Germany), and the original singers of Millie Vanilli....and hopefully............YOU!Life love peace and harmony!
