ABOUT NIC
…Just to give you a little background on my work. In the mid 90’s I worked on the critically acclaimed small press comic ‘Dead Fly Pie’, published by Walrus Press. Along side the writer, cartoonist and sequential genius Sam Banfield, with whom I have collaborated ever since. DFP ran strips such as ‘The Return of Captain Static’, ‘Pongo & Snatch’, ‘The Fulcrum Bros’ and many others to numerous to mention. This culminated with the seminal ’44 Castle Hill’ and ‘Heavy Petting’ from the fifth and as yet unpublished issue.
Following this Sam and I went onto produce our first children’s book 'Stanley Bones and the Great Dinosaur Mystery' published by Little Tiger Press in the UK and by Grund in France. It has sold over 25,000 copies and had 17,000 withdrawals from UK libraries in 2006 alone.

I am now working with Sam on a series of pre teen action adventure books (still under wraps at the moment), he writes I draw…
I have illustrated a number of educational books aimed at children, young people, parents and teachers. I have tried to develop a simple visual language, which enables the writer’s message to be clearly communicated. Cartoons are after all, just communication. Alongside this I think it is important to illustrate a diverse cultural environment and to represent all parts of society in my work.
I also regularly illustrate and design various flyers & logos for bands and music events. This has led too painting backdrops for conferences, parties and events such as poetry readings. I have worked as a scenic artist on various theatre productions, short films and music videos.
And to bring it all right up to date, I’m now working with some of the UK’s top hip-hop producers on a series of album coversFor more information – www.myspace.com/skillioso
