Ok_Ma are Younglee and Jake Sax. They met whilst playing as part of D’Nell at Manchester’s Electric Chair, they shared the hotel room a few bottles of Jack Daniels....the Ok_Ma project was formed. Jake joined Young at his DJ gigs playing sax and flute over Young’s beats a firm musical partnership was formed.Featuring various vocalists, this project is a a fusion of funk, soul, RnB and Afro / Broken rubs, global influence with a UK sound. With releases on London’s R2 records, Liverpool’s Sick Trumpet and Chicago’s Still music and remixes for Arch_Type, Patchworks, Yellowtail, Jonny Miller, Choi, Tim Scott, Fred Wesley, Bernard Wright and featured on compilations from Philly, South Africa, Australia and Germany things are looking bright2008 has started with a bang with a sell out gig at Cargo in Shoreditch / London for the infamous Wah Wah record label...... They rocked it out with a full 9 piece band.January and Ok_Ma have already been booked for gigs in Italy, Switzerland, Miami and Spain...... another 11 months to go!!The boys play and have played at most of London best venues such as 333, Turnmills, Fabric, Ministry of Sound, The Cross, Canvas, Chinawhites, Cafe de Paris, Cargo, Herbal and the like.Their Saturday night residence at the Bedroom Bar, Rivington St, Shoreditch, London packs in a full house of over 200 people each week and has done for the last 7 years...... surely one of London’s longest weekly residencies.Contact
