DJ Conrad has been leading the charge for left-of-centre dance music in Liverpool for the last 15 years. Co-founder of Liverpool's original nu-jazz night, Footprints, Conrad has always been one step ahead. Throwing sporadic parties in the city for years, Footprints has entertained heavyweights such as Jazzanova, Seiji, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Mark Rae and Charlie Dark and has helped to secure Conrad's reputation for championing this predominately London based sound across the North.
Conrad's DJing exploits have taken him all over Britain and even overseas, but it all started 15 years ago in the Bourbon St Jazz Club (now the Zanzibar where Conrad started Footprints) in Liverpool at the peak of the acid jazz era.
Liverpool's coolest venue The Magnet has counted Conrad among its residents from its opening over a decade ago right through to today. Conrad blows us away every time with his impeccable taste, enviable turntable skills, and by just being cool.
Whilst at The Magnet Conrad has supported and played alongside some of the biggest names in the industry including Gilles Peterson, Quantic, Domu, J Rawls and Marc Mac (4 Hero) to name a few.
Guest spots around the nation and abroad have furthered his reputation, and the same can be said of his productions. Having had a great reaction to the broken cover version of Nina Simone's "Funkier than a Mosquito's Tweeter" he made with RSL, including plays by Benji B on One Xtra and Gilles Peterson on Radio One, Conrad is currently getting ready to hit the nation with new beats.
