The question that I am asked more often then any other question is what the abbreviation of P.O.T.U.S. represents? The simple answer is that it is one of the finest independent music publishing and record companies that is excepting new Artists. The philosophy is simple, to give the tools to the Artists and allow them to expand and grow. The area's that we mainly focus on is expanding the artists fan base through merchandise, show production and interviews. With this being said, we are actually a very hands on label that shows a band how to become an actual career. The logic is simple... The more the individual band/Artist succeeds, the more we grow as a label.
So what do we expect from our bands? Hardworking, driven, and talented musicians that are willing to grow. Of course growing entails growing pains, so when the band has a bad show or plays to 6 people that aren't paying attention, they're still willing to head back out and keep plugging away. With that being said, P.O.T.U.S. Is willing to grow with your band... To help you promote, to pay for gas when your broke and out on the road, to line up interviews and even to book your shows until you learn how to do it yourself/higher a booking agent. As anyone knows in the music industry, sacrifice is the key of success.
So why do we do it... Well, its something that we love to do. Also, its better then working some stiff 9-5 where you hope that there might be bagels in the conference room. Its not easy though, working long nights and weekends just to have to wake up the next day and keep plugging away. This isn't a full time job, but really a lifestyle. We wake up, live, talk and breathe music. If you think this is something that your band would be interested in then we'd love to hear your music.
