ABOUT THE TRACKS WE'VE SELECTED FOR THIS PAGE
"Quick Rebellion" reflects our love of space rock. This track was originally written in the late 80's as a solo compositon for one of Paul Denison's solo albums. It was then re-written and became a Frayed Edge track in 1991. It has now been re-written again to suit the current Frayed Edge style.
Late September 2006, saw the writing of a brand new track "This is our world". This track reflects our influences within the genre's of metal and heavy rock, and a little blues break thrown in as well.
"Can't get out of bed" was written in 1990, and received some excellent reviews in the local media. It became a crowd favourite back then, and is still very well received today.
This track undoubtedly reflects our punk influence.
"Voices" is one of our more progressive tracks. It has been included in all of our recent set lists due to the favourable comments it has received from various audiences since it was written. The song was written in the latter part of 2005.
BEGINNINGS
Frayed Edge were formed by Paul Denison (guitars & vocals) and Kevin Mulvey (drums) in 1988. Ginger became the first bass player, and Mark Ferris became lead vocalist for a short while. Mark Ryan (current member) replaced Ginger on bass when he left, and Patrick James (also current member) joined as new drummer when Kevin had to leave. Jan Patterson stepped in as drummer when Patrick had to leave in 1991, but it was all change again in 1992 when Jan left and Mark moved to live in Germany for a few years. Kev Mulvey rejoined as drummer along with Hannah Young as the new bass player. Then Hannah left, so Paul ended the band later on in 1992. The current band members re-formed Frayed Edge in 2004.
Below is a video showing a couple of samples of our early stuff from 1990.
It was recorded with very dated technology and has also lost some of the quality on the upload, so it's quite good, but far from excellent.
The music is set to some photos and art that change during play.
Record Label: Self production currently.
Type of Label: None
