Shortman Films was conceived in 2006 by Raihan, Shafie and Mervyn; as a vehicle to provide the regional filming industry a new breath of life by creating interesting and attention grabbing television programmes.
Its vision was immediately recognized when it was invited to spearhead into the Hi Definition realm of filming by the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA). Under the project, Shortman Films produced a 1 hour tele-movie action-comedy titled Love Under Covers. Thespians, such as Keagan Kang, Janice Koh, Chen Tian Wen and Tracy Tan were involved in the shoot.
Borrowing from classic screwball comedies, Love Under Covers is a romantic action-comedy best described as Lethal Weapon meets The Wedding Banquet.
It is a story of two cops, despite hating each other, are forced to pose as newlyweds in order to nab a criminal. In the course of their adventures, they change, bringing out the best and worst in each other. And maybe -- just maybe -- fall in love.
The two cops will slowly find that that the most dangerous part of their assignment is not nabbing their suspect. Instead it involves harrowing feats as choosing the curtain colour, Korean drama or football at ten o..clock and who..ll do the dishes after dinner.
