How evil are you?
The First Amendment states:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Censorship. It's not just protecting us from the obvious obscenity of a profound word, or a naked body, but it also protects us from the truth. Censorship has become so accepted among society, that the occasional '...' in a statement no longer causes the reader to consider anything but what they've been fed. Media outlets have censored stories to create the expected reaction from the public, and we all have fallen victim at one time or another. But it's okay, they get their ratings.
Censorship affects our human rights, and our ability to see what is truly happening in 'our' world. The freedom of speech is being striped from our lips. We've been forced to believe that we are a rich and great nation in the past, but recent events have openned some of our eyes to the real world of poverty, lies and deceit in which we are drowning.
