Checkered Entertainment is an independent non-profit promotion "group†based out of Wilmington, N.C. and is basically the D.I.Y. bi-product of once dead scene in the southeast. Tired of no shows and no scene we decided to step up and out, begin supporting local and regional bands from all over and successfully rebuild the scene here in Wilmington. When we say non-profit, I have been lucky to ever break even on what I spend on gas and flyers. Any support from anyone out there would be great, whether it be hanging flyers, making copies of flyers, making the flyer (be sure to include information) or just reposting our bulletins, shows, flyers, ECT. The scene is only as strong as the people in it. Ska, Punk, Hardcore, Oi and yes even metal all share influences and should be considered one big scene.
