mm started more or less in late 2005. good friends cookie k. & miss daiquiri were at a party and cookie had had a bit to drink. knowing that the two broads in question are musical, a friend suggested an impromptu a capella duet thingy. the girls launched into one such version of head automatica's powerpop smash 'beating heart baby'. it was then, that the idea to start a band was formed.
cookie & ms. d spent the next year or so writing material - cookie bringing her raw old rhythm & blues & rockabilly influences to the mix, and ms. d adding her sweeter, charming '50s pop - until they met some more musicians who were willing to give them a hand.

MANUELA & THE MUSICMAKERS and
RUBY ANN.
singing songs about boys who've wronged us, the good times, old-time sideshow attractions and... whatever else we want to anybody who digs it,
mm are here to prove that they can shake just as hard as the big boys.
