DJ K-NOTE was born in Toronto, Canada to Jamaican parents and from an early age has always had music surrounding him. His fathers favorite pastime was Djing where he collected vast amounts of music especially reggae music. Over the years DJ K-Note has traveled back and forth from Toronto to New York, Miami and Jamaica and from this his knowledge of the music has grown. In the early 90's he helped form a sound crew called MenAtWork whom traveled throughout Canada and the USA performing at various clubs and festivals. A Dj who in his native Canada pushed upcoming artists through his company Knoise Promotions (Kardinal Offishal, Saukrates, and more), which was the 1st, Urban music based promotional company in Canada.Fast forward to 2007 and K-Note now resides in Sydney being a regular staple in the club circuit of Australia. He has supported the likes of 50 Cent, Sean Paul, LL Cool J (Guvernment Warehouse), Lil Kim, De La Soul, Black Eyed Pea’s ,The Roots (Summer Love B.C) and was requested to be the official tour Dj for Shaggy’s Australian Rumba tour nationally, tour DJ for the Outlaws (2Pacs Group) and djing exclusive parties for the likes of Lil Jon, Paris Hilton and Avant. From being part of The Surgeon General Sound Crew and having his mixes/remixes regularly played on The Edge (96.1 FM) and now his new home SBS Alchemy 97.7fm to promoting one of Sydney’s most popular reggae/dance hall nights 'MakeItClap'.
