SOUL SPONGESOUL SPONGE
Soul Sponge is the brainchild of Washington area musician Bryan Mills. Soul Sponge was created to bring back the Live Band sound to todays heavy computerized music market. This band is a breath of fresh air that plays music for all ages and tastes. R&B, Funk, Soul are a few genres you will find in their repertoire. They promise 100% absorbency to their listeners. We call it the Sponge because we like to soak up our audience.Virtuoso saxophonist Bryan Mills began performing at local venues and clubs while still in High School. A music scholarship brought him to Clark Atlanta University, beginning his road to musical maturity. Mills, as he is often called, decided in 1991 to transfer to Howard Universitys prestigious Jazz Studies Program, which gave him the opportunity to play with notable DC area groups including the Marcus Johnson Project, Suttle Thoughts, and Thievery Corporation; he currently performs with DCs legendary Chuck The Godfather of Go-Go Brown. When Bryan was asked what impact would he like to have on the music industry, he simply stated, I just want people to smile when they hear me play.AppearancesDVD Put Your Hands Up A Tribute to Chuck Brown Live at the 9:30 Club
