About Me

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am Bobbie Westmoreland, a writer and photographer for Take Me Out tothe Go-Go, an online (and sometimes print) music magazine about DC's own Go-Go music and urban culture. My articles include a piece on the owners of black bookstore chain Karibu Books, an exclusive interview with lead talker Chi Ali on his decision to leave the After Hours Band to play with Suttle, and the indepth interview with members of Lissen Da Grew^p where they spoke about their split with The Lissen Band. My photgraphs are showing up all over the internet and on various flyers.
In addition, I am the Treasurer for the Go-Go Coalition an organization formed to protect, and preserve DC's rich Go-Go culture. I also serve on the Coalition's Community Outreach Committee, which is chaired by "Sugar Bear" Elliott.
I write a weekly (though not lately) online soap called On The Potomac . I also write artist bios and copyedit, so contact me if you want to make sure your material is up to par before sending it out.
