M.V.P. Band

About Me

The MVP Band Started in 2000 by friends who where musicians in the D.C. area and had experienced performing and playing with just about all of the hottest bands and singers in the area. They decided to put together a band that could bring a more professional big boy sound to the areas local artist like Grenique (Former Motown artitst) Sugar Bear (E.U.) Li'l Benny even National Artist like Ashanti. In 2001 they started recording their album which would have contained all original music. The Band had been rehearsing twice a week for a year, getting there early and leaving late without performing in public just for the fun of it, which is unheard of for any band. Trying to incorporate all of their musical influences from Old school soul to hard rock from Go-go to 70's Funk. You can hear this on these previously unreleased tracks, some of the tracks were never finished or mixed or even had all of the vocals added like the track titled 'One time' which is a tribute song dedicated to all of our Go-go pioneers and heros. The track was to have a poet talking thru the beginning up until the hype section that names our early influences. Some of the songs purposely had hidden references to other local bands that would let them know we were coming to get them in a friendly battle kind of way. By they way if any band is reading this we would like to open for you even now :-) . The MVP project was never finished because some of the members where busy doing recordings for other artist like Michele Ndegeo'Cello and Grenique to engineering and producing for Ashanti and various local artist. The recording sessions became almost like an urban legend for some of our followers and fans and even some of the scratch vocal tapes and ruff mix session tapes where even leaked. So here you have what we have until we either re-record, finish or mix these songs. Stay tuned as there will be more songs and remixes posted.
