Just what is Tomboy Entertainment?
Our main focus at Tomboy Entertainment is taking talented women musicians and getting them out into the mainstream media. The website is one place where we provide them to be seen and heard, but we are also aiding them in as many other ways as possible. The artists listed on our page were hand picked because they are all 100% original and have the potential to make it in the mainstream. All of these artists write their own music, lyrics, and go through the creative process untattered by computerized vocal enhancements.
The mainstream media of today would have us believe that you must be 6 ft, blonde, and beautiful to be a female musician. But where's the talent? Where's the music? What happened to the Sarah Mclachlans and Tori Amos and Natalie Merchants? Where have all the real musicians gone?
Rest assured they are out there. And we intend to help bring them to you starving listeners. We do this by running ad campaigns, sending artists materials to magazines and record companies, and more than that we try to provide them the info and understanding they need to help themselves as well.
But Tomboy Entertainment is more than just that...
On another level Tomboy Entertainment, the website, caters to a much larger crowd. The website has been built not only to accomodate our artists; there's a little bit for just about anybody. Of course, you can see that our target audience is mainly women. But everyone's invited.
If you're a musician, we've provided a number of pages that will give you info on things like copyrights, management, cd replication, distribution, music festival listings, and much more to get you on the right track with your music career.
Ladies, you like our artists, you've listened to their music, maybe even bought their CDs...but you need to get off the computer and out of the house...We've taken the liberty of finding women's events for you: film festivals, music festivals, women's parties, camping events, and much more. Find out what's happening and be part of it.
