Elise Major brings back the bite in the Baltimore music scene. Influenced by artists like Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Salt, Garbage, and Smashing Pumpkins, the band mixes it together to create their own twist of pop musical intelligence. Chris Mandra, co creator of All Songs Created on NPR says, "Elise has a voice and ability that live up to her name: Major- She sings powerfully, in earnest and in tune, hooky melodies and sophisticated contrapuntal lines which combine harmonic surprise and intense dynamic shifts. Plus, she can play the crap out of the guitar." Elise is a force on stage to be reckoned with, wielding a strong, commanding voice with guitar skills to match. Cyndi Reilly provides melodic back up with her commandeering vocals and catchy bass lines, and Travis Mays keeps the beat and pounds the skins. The band joined forces in 2006 and their new EP will be out in early 2007. With their edgy post-grunge power, this band stands alone in the female music community gaining respect from musicians and fans alike online and onstage.Their song "Heroine" won "Track of the Day" on GarageBand.com due to the overwhelming support of reviewers. Currently the single is rotating on 98 Rock in Baltimore and on WMUC Radio 88.1 FM. The band has interviewed and performed on WHFS 105.7, 98 Rock, and DC101 and were the winners of this year's WHFS's Underground Live Battle of the Bands. Their relentless eagerness to play has placed them in all the major venues in the Maryland/DC area including; The 8x10, Sonar, the Talking Head Club, the Ottobar, Fletcher's, the Lodge Bar, Armadillo's in Annapolis, Thunderdome, the Black Cat, Velvet Lounge, ESPN Zone, the Sidebar, Remingtons, the Mojo Room, Red House Tavern, and also various 98 Rock events such as "98 Rock's Noise in the Basement" with Matt Davis.
