About Me

First, let's give credit where credit is due: I plastered Oscar Wilde everywhere using Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace) Oscar Wilde is one of History's Greatest Men.

Now, on to "About Me":

Loyal servant and humble announcer to the Charm City Roller Girls. Unfailingly pleasant. Compact and flexible. A gin-fueled dynamo.

Rare video footage of Dirty Marty behaving boisterously:
This was recorded during the regional premiere of the Dirty Marty theme song. Make sure that you have your sound on so that you can hear the music. Otherwise, it will just look silly. Video by Zach Diamond.

My Interests

Dirty Marty's sole interest is Roller Derby. More specifically, the Charm City Roller Girls . Alongside his broadcast partner and secret crush Jimmy Valentine, Dirty Marty serves as an announcer for the Greatest Roller Derby League in The Greatest City In America. But you already know that, since you've been to all of the bouts, right?

Season Three continues to make you sweat:

I'd like to meet:

The Blue Meanie , Gore Vidal, Roger Ebert, Crispin Glover, Kare Bear Mafia , James Randi, Diamanda Galas, John Waters and Goldust.

Music:

First and foremost, The Holmeskillit --author and performer of the Dirty Marty Theme, Secret Crush Society , The Breakups

Movies:

The Big Sleep, Breaking the Waves, Big Trouble in Little China, Night of the Living Dead (1968), Kansas City Bomber, anything from Jim Jarmusch, John Waters, or Charlie Kauffman. Also anything old or creepy. Old and creepy is best.

Television:

"Ned and Stacey", "Newsradio", "Due South", "Arrested Development", "Get a Life". Oh, you mean what's on now? Well, there's "The Daily Show", "The Colbert Report", most of Adult Swim, "TNA Impact", "My Name is Earl", and "The Office". Whatever is on The Science Channel. The only permissible reality series is "Rollergirls" . "Rollergirls" has been cancelled. There are no permissible reality shows. And "Psych". "Psych" is really good. It may be the best non-Colbert show on television.

Books:

"The Thief's Journal" by Jean Genet; "Julian" by Gore Vidal; "If On a Winter's Night a Traveler" by Italo Calvino; "Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World" by Haruki Murakami; "The Mysterious Stranger" by Mark Twain

Heroes:

I, I will be king And you, you will be queen Though nothing will drive them away We can beat them, just for one day We can be Heroes, just for one dayAnd you, you can be mean And I, I'll drink all the time 'Cause we're lovers, and that is a fact Yes we're lovers, and that is thatThough nothing, will keep us together We could steal time, just for one day We can be Heroes, for ever and ever What d'you say?I, I wish you could swim Like the dolphins, like dolphins can swim Though nothing, nothing will keep us together We can beat them, for ever and ever Oh we can be Heroes, just for one dayI, I will be king And you, you will be queen Though nothing will drive them away We can be Heroes, just for one day We can be us, just for one dayI, I can remember (I remember) Standing, by the wall (by the wall) And the guns shot above our heads (over our heads) And we kissed, as though nothing could fall (nothing could fall) And the shame was on the other side Oh we can beat them, for ever and ever Then we could be Heroes, just for one dayWe can be Heroes We can be Heroes We can be Heroes Just for one day We can be HeroesWe're nothing, and nothing will help us Maybe we're lying, then you better not stay But we could be safer, just for one dayOh-oh-oh-ohh, oh-oh-oh-ohh, just for one day
