In a nutshell, my name is Blair Hansen. I'm 22 and have been living in the San Francisco Bay Area for... well, 22 years! My dream was originally to study and train as an opera singer, but I sold my soul to the folk rock gods at the age of 15 when I got my eager-to-learn-hands on a guitar.
I began writing songs and playing them for my family to hear. Six months later, I ended up getting hooked up with a drummer who introduced me to my wonderful producer and friend, Clay Bigham. With my family's support, I began recording my first cd and took it to as many stages and people as I could!
Shortly there after at the age of seventeen, I recorded my second cd "Smile" and hit the road. With my father, Steve Hansen as my Manager and Sally Anne Monti as my Publicist, we embarked on the "Blair Hansen Music Project".
For a few years I played a lot, did a lot of promotion-feel free to ask.. though name dropping is not my thing. We were all new to the “music bizâ€, but it was definitely a learning process for us all. It was all going so fast!
After I graduated high school in '04, I decided to take a break for a few years to gain more experience, search my soul and to see if this was truly what I wanted to do. I'm not one of those folks who love a fast paced kind of life. It was a bit much for me to handle and I wanted a more simplistic life.
Here I stand now, saving up for and am currently working on my next cd. I may not be recording on $100,000,000+ equipment, but I am recording with something that in the end is MUCH more than that. I'm recording with love and hard work and that is what music is all about. It's about keeping the music real and as raw on a recording as it is sung to a person in the same room. That is what my music is all about. That is what music should be about.
