About Me

By Day, I'm an Assistant Managing Clerk at a midtown law firm who lives in the BRONX. A proud father of a lovely daughter named Maranda. I pose as a teen mentor with the Brother 2 Brother Mentorship Program in conjunction with Harlem Hospital; an active member of Harlem’s Abyssinian Baptist church; a coordinator of the Well Read Reading group, a Brooklyn based literacy initiative that connects with African American teenagers; and the acting Secretary of Brother 2 Brother Symposium, Inc., a program that encourages black men and young adults to read fiction literature.My first novel, SIX DAYS IN JANUARY, was published in February 2004 by Strebor Books. My Interests

Because I'm a Gemini, I'm adaptable to any situation. I can be at a HIP-HOP concert acting a fool, as well as enjoying the Nutcracker Suite at Lincoln Center. I can dance like the Kids (THINK USHER, Bobby Brown and, or course MJ), yet Salsa and Merengue - I need to learn the CHICAGO STEP. Would Love to learn ballroom! I play sports - touch tackle football as well as basketball in the lawyers leagues. And I love to quote movie lines.. A lover contemporary history, I love to rap about the Civil Rights Black Panther Movement, as well as the political conspiracies of our...ahem...Nation. (The Kennedys- Especially the JFK Assassination and Watergate)I'm also a sports Junkie, who knows everything about the four major sports.

I'd like to meet:

I would have love to met Malcolm X, Huey Newton and Eldredge Cleaver, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Barry White and Luther Vandross. Would have loved to try and help Phyllis Hyman find love. God, I Miss Her. Others? Richard Nixon, Vince Lombardi, Tom Landry, Katherine Hepburn, Spencer Tracy, Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers and Ann Miller.Present Day? Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson & Anyone Cool and interesting, as well as people with SUBSTANCE. I love music, especially R&B BARRY WHITE, MARVIN GAYE, LUTHER VANDROSS, PHYLLIS HYMAN, STEVIE WONDER, O'JAYS, BLUE MAGIC, SHALIMAR, THE SPINNERS, STYLISTICS, BLUE MAGIC, NEW JACK SWING SOUND, JAM/LEWIS PRODUCED CUTS, GAMBLE & HUFF MUSIC, RODNEY "DARKCHILD" JERKINS JAMS, TSOP, PRINCE, NEW EDITION, LISA STANSFIELD, MARY J. BLIGE, THE NOTORIOUS B.I.G., REDMAN and JANET. As Much as I all of them Love Them, they all take a back seat to the KING of POP - MICHAEL JACKSON!!!

Movies:

I love watching old Gene Kelly & Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers Musicals (even steal dance moves from them) and Spencer Tracy/ Katherine Hepburn joints. In short, I like a little of everything. I also love watching NFL FILMS- I have a huge library of football DVDs and Videos. Especially anything narrated by the late John Facenda. I also love watching movies that touch on controversial topics... JFK, QUIZ SHOW, et al. Michael Mann and Oliver Stone are two of my favorite directors.

Television:

ESPN JUNKIE!!! Love Grey's Anatomy, as well as my PBS documentaries. I love watching stuff re: BLACK HISTORY. Wish the showed more of it other than February.

Books:

My favorite authors are DAVID HALBERSTAM, ERIC JEROME DICKEY, VINCENT ALEXANDRIA, COLIN CHANNER, DONNA HILL, CHET "C. KELLY" ROBINSON, ROCHELLE ALERS, CHERYL FAYE, ERIC PETE and ZANE.

Heroes:

Love Barry Bonds, Michael Jordan, Vince Lombardi, Tiger Woods as well as anyone in life trying to make a difference.
