Now calling Portland, Oregon home, Troy Dixon has been recording and performing his inspiring brand of alternative country music on the west coast for the last seven years. Leaving college in Michigan early to start the drafts on what was then a book of poetry, Troy worked and traveled throughout the west for two years, eventually settling in Ventura, California. It was in Ventura where Troy met songwriter and guitarist Jonathan Raffetto and started the writing collaboration, along with guitarist Stuart Orlinsky, that soon evolved into the folkie underground favorites Southern Cross.
Troy has performed over 700 shows, from intimate coffee shops to large theaters and festivals, bringing an infectious mix of voice, words and guitar that combine for a passionate and unforgettable live experience. Moving easily between stark introspection and unbridled hope, Troy's songwriting blends the influences of country, rock, folk and soul in a style that is uniquely his own.
The new cd "the devil you know", is currently set for release for fall 2007.
