Each individual in Eve’s Dilemma brings their own flair to the band’s sound, making their collective mark on lead singer Sam Leach’s original creations. The result could be compared to a combination of styles from bands as diverse as R.E.M., Arcade Fire, and the Decemberists, with Sam’s vocals alluding to Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan and Counting Crows’s Adam Duritz. But just the same, Eve’s Dilemma delivers a sound that is uniquely their own.Joe Solis added his hard-rock drumming style to Sam’s signature sound to form half of the first incarnation of Eve’s Dilemma in 2002. Classically-trained violinist and background vocalist Heather Torain came on board in 2005. The next year, fretless wonder bass guitarist Tom Finch, and the swiss army knife of instrumentalists, Cooper Harless, joined the crew to complete the ensemble. The new members have helped the band round the corner from Eve’s’ former guitar-driven rock to more of an edgy indie-folk-rock sound. The evolution continues to unfold as the band experiments with instrumentation, texture, and time signatures.
