Klannon was created in the winter of 2004
The CD cover of [ "Klannon" - A Darker Side of Space ] the second of 2 cd's is a picture I took in January of 2006 while hiking on the trails of North Carolina, with my Good Friends Hillary and my Wife Steph.
My goal in this type of genre was to create for the listener a combination of ethereal space sounds along with groups of rythms compiled together using natural percussion instruments or toys as I like to call them.
After a year and a half of paths and changes with minimal attention do to other priorities, a lengthy piece of sound was split into 18 pieces of music of which 4 are now availiable of what I would like to refer to as a percussive ambient space trance, due to my love and facination with the Universe.
Unlike the previous cd this one was directed in a darker setting with my spirit as we move through the season.
Along with the support and occasional appearances from my wife Stephanie and close friend David Lyle, the band Klannon will try to keep up with the stuff goin on in my head.
About James H Brown :
Self-Taught, I started to play percussion along with experienced kit drummer, Lee Towles, who was my roommate in 1994. Thus began my love of rhythm I origionally was introduced to as a child through my father and his love for music. Though self-taught, I enjoy learning all I can about playing and making music from the many diverse people and influences who i've had the priviledge of encountering in life's path, while trying to bring light energy and humor to the journey. Having played in many group settings, from bands to drum circles, playing with others has opened up the opportunity to try ideas I would not have had without them. Even today, guest appearances by friends and fellow musicians are common in projects.
Experienced in playing :
Congas, Bongos, Djembas, Dumbeks, Ashikos, Shakers, Cybols, Cowbells, Chimes, Tambourines, Chinese Gong, Yamaha DTX MIDI Drum Kit, as well as Timbalis and Taiko Drums using either sticks or mallets.
Additional Experience in :
Songwriting, MIDI Computer Rhythm Programming, Computer Music and Loop Songwriting.

Guest Percussionist. - "Midst of Zool" High Seas 2001 - "Mosh for America" with Midst of Zool 2001, a CD consisting of local Metal Bands from the Orlando Fl. area, with proceeds to help the victims of 911 - "Milka" 2002 Guest Percussionist on 3 songs for the Fire in the Sky CD - "Okoya" Primitive Waves 2002 with David Lyle - "Blue Spring" 2004 with Stephanie and David - "Klannon" 8 Moments in Time 2005 - "Fortú" Symbiotic 2006 with Steph [ a commemorative wedding CD ] and "Fortú" Satin Sheets currently in the making.
