Thanks to the internet I have been finding friends from all of the many walks of life I have walked {and danced!} the early half of which I lived in NYC and the latter half in San Francisco. It's been amazing! If you hung out at Ondine, The Cheetah Club, Electric Circus, Steve Paul's Scene, Salvation, Ungano's, Nobodys and Max's Kansas City in NYC in the 60's and 70's I would love to hear from you! And just for good measure I'll throw in my childhood haunts, Le Figaro, Cafe Wha and The Cock 'N Bull in the west village. Of course, I'm very keen on making new friends too.I enjoy swimming and yoga, hiking, picnicing and cooking delicious healthy food. I'm a trained board op, and have written, produced and hosted a number of radio shows, my favorite being a series of comedy shows which afforded me the pleasure of working with Margaret Cho, Greg Proops, Matt Weinhold and many great local talents. I've also done a fair bit of less exciting stuff like selling airtime, but my numbers were good! Love big stadium concerts and intimate blues bars and every venue in between. Pretty good pool player, movie fan, lover of life.
As a young woman I was very much into the NY music scene and spent my nights at places like Ondine, The Cheetah Club, Electric Circus, the Fillmore East, Steve Paul's Scene, Salvation, and Max's Kansas City. Have to add Nobody's on Bleeker to that list. Well, the whole Village really..I moved all over NY, but the Village was the place I called home. That was a really special place in a special time. The NY scene was amazing, and I met many, many unforgettable people during those times, but it could also be a hard life. Substance abuse was an accepted way of life and I saw brilliant people become drug casualties. Afraid I'd become one more person who's star burned bright and faded too soon, I moved to San Francisco, but that was like moving to the woods to get away from trees.. Things didn't change right away. I blew through Marin and San Francisco in an escalating haze of booze and drugs, but eventually I was lucky enough to find the San Francisco program of A.A. and N.A. which saved my life. I am so grateful to be here today. I've never forgotten the many amazing people I've met on my journeys, but I did lose touch with a lot of people. If any of the places I mention are familiar to you I would love to hear from you. Of course, I'm very keen on making new friends too!I'm a trained board op with a degree in broadcasting and have written, produced and hosted a number of radio presentations. My favorite work was series of comedy shows which afforded me the pleasure of working with a lot of funny and talented people. Also loved my midnight blues show and I was a hell of a seller. Love big stadium concerts and intimate blues bars and every venue in between. Pretty good pool player, movie fan, lover of life.Lately I've been writing. I'm reasonably sure I've experienced a few things most people haven't..and I was so lucky to grow up in a time that lends itself to telling. Some of my writing is adult content and it's private, but if you'd care to read it let me know.I'm also very into animal causes, vehemently anti-fur industry, a member of Dogs Deserve Better, PETA, the Humane Society and several other animal rights organizations, which I link to through Daisy's Page. Daisy is my mini LH dachshund and she has her own page, which is first on my friends list. Please join me and my fellow activists there. We really care about animals.I am open to meeting people from all walks of life, so don't be a stranger, whatever your interests. This does exclude mlm, otherwise please do say hello!**Smile**
