Originally hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne, Dan Blackout began life in 1998 mixing in small bars and clubs in and around Newcastle when he was 17. Music college followed but the pace and content of the teachings soon wore thin. He left college at 18 and hooked up with Generation Dub running Newcastles infamous Area51 Parties @ Foundation, WHQ and Scotland Yard in conjunction with DJ SS's Formation Records/World of Drum and Bass. The Parties rolled on with Dubplate Killaz, Renegade Hardware and more until 2004 when Dan made the decision to concentrate on production. Pulling inspiration from sci-fi and gangster movies, 80's electro and pop, funk and soul and all avenues of hip hop and dance music to create a heavy spacious sound. Dan has now made the move to join G-Dub, Taxman and Jaydan in the Propaganda camp in Leicester, recently featuring as vocalist on G Dubs "Come home" and with the first release on the label due later this year....Keep your ears peeled!!!
