MIDLANDS UNDERGROUND & THE FLAWLESS AGENCY Midlands Underground promotions formed in the year 2000 after the success of the Infamous Snowdome events in tamworth promoted by (Cullie) DR BUPA came to an end (the Snowdome events featuring . DR BUPA & BIG PROF,DJ'S MASSIVE & MUGSHOT, PAPPA DOC & THE JVF CLIQUE, LJ HIGH, MC JAF, XACUTA, PHILLY B DANGERUSS, DEANO & CO, ) DJ Andy "Hardcore" Massive & Helen (lady massive) decided to unite all the up & coming dj crews from all the towns and city's of the midlands under one banner MIDLANDS UNDERGROUND, It has to be mentioned that the name UNDERGROUND PROMOTIONS (headed by the legendary MC Lenny) was the influence behind the name, the logo & perhaps the whole concept. Actually Underground Promotions came to Nuneaton in 1990 and Influenced us to put on our own promotion which was called INNOVATION (yes thats right we had the name Innovation first) , We even opened a clothes/record shop INNOVATION CLOTHING with the Don Paddy Ginnelly. At the time Underground events were Massive , and events like Birmingham Rag Market were instrumental in the evolution of the local scene . Midlands Underground Promotions would like to thank Lenny & the Underground boys for this legacy. Our policy has always been to book only the the very best and most popular local dj's, especially the one that have the support of their local communities. As a result Midlands Underground events are always full, trouble free and have a friendly, feel good vibe at all their promotions. To date midlands underground have staged 9 events in Nuneaton and are now being taken seriously as a force to be recond with , as a partner to trust & as a top national organization, helping to rebuild the local midlands scene that spawned the entire uk rave scene........ This year and next midlands underground hope to be collaborating with many other regional organizations throughout the uk including Low Down Deep, Totally Underground, Hertz & Random Concept as well as pushing its top dj's from the Flawless DJ Agencywww.myspace.com/flawlessdjagency
Like every kid in my neighbourhood (my age) I left school at 15 with no qualifications , hit the acid house scene hard in 1989,90. I attended the first legal all night warehouse party " AMNESIA" at Sky Blue Connections where I first heard my biggest influence MC Man Parris who had a massive effect on my direction at that time. (Let it be known) Man Parris was exactly WHAT, WHO and WHERE I wanted to be from that moment on. Many MC's including myself copied his style to become the Compare's that "stepped up" the crowd" in a deep cool (and deadly) confident style. I can still hear MC Man Parris booming out "YOU HEAR THAT MAN??" , "YOU HEAR THAT MUTHA!!!" "GET MENTAL IN THE HOUSE....quality...class.... I was F**kin there, you perhaps wasnt!.........never mind eh? ...Had a Job with the Pratley Brothers (Helter Skelter) literally. I aint Joking either I am the only Skelta DJ that actually worked on the Helter Skelter funfair ride that Dave Pratley's Dad owned. I soon got promoted to the appollo skid ride which was bbbiiiigggg mmmmooonnneeyyy.Hooked up with up & coming (at the time) record producer John Grahem to write, produce and arrange my, U.S, dance chart No1 hit single "Anthem" (GLOBE AND THE HARDCORE MASSIVE )which I wrote and John produced & was released on White House Records in the summer of 1992. I believe John Grahem (Globe) AKA "Quiver" and "SKANNA" then went on to work with DJs, Producers such as Sasha and Danny Rampling on the world house circuit, whilst I remained Underground. He was the brains but I think I was the talented one .lol.I Bumped into Dave Pratley again in 1991 or 92 at the Amnesia event at "Birmingham Rag Market" handing out flyers and handed him a demo tape that I mixed up using the tape deck and turntable on my midi hi-fi system and was intended for lord parris actually(dave don't even know to this day). Got a call on my mobile phone that was the size of a f**kin briefcase he said to me "alright andy , dave ere, just got myself a club (milwalkees) wondered if you fancied warming the place up for some of my proper DJ's?".(cheeky git).... Thats how it started, one week later and im on the same bill as CARL COX, GROOVERIDER, FABIO, ELLIS DEE,KENNY KEN, MICKEY FINN, SLIPMATT, JUICEMAN & HOOLIGAN etc, in fact ,ive played before after and alongside each and every one of the magic circle dj elite from day one........(so does that make me one of them?) In 2000 I formed a local midlands Drum & Bass promotion called Midlands "Underground" and performed at two events at the "Courtyard (now silks)" in Nuneaton. Midlands Underground is now at the forefront of the west midlands d&b movement. Let it be known that midlands undergrounds recognises and salutes the hard work and influence that SECTION 18 and the UNUSUAL SUSPECTS have had on the local Drum & Bass scene bringing it back from the brink of oblivion. Thanks to the one like Mark (cockney)thanks to you the local scene is now live and kicking "big up mate"
I am about to release my first single since my "Formation Records" Majestic Twelve hit "Resonant Evil". The new record is called "Who's Ya Daddy" and hopefully will be signed to a drum and bass label this summer. I am available for bookings via "Flawless" DJ Agency or contact me on this site. Mum being a friend of (frank cooper) the wailers tour bus driver" at the gig i was too small to see so a 7ft rasta lifted me onto his shoulders in the front row. At that exact moment bob spotted me. walked over to me pointed and began to sing "NO WOMAN NO CRY" the legend is that all present say that he saw a child in the audience and so he sang that song to ME.. (believe what you like, it happened, therefore its true) JaH KnOws SKELTA CREW Claire Parkers Flame (copy this and burn it on youre site in memory of Claire TOP BIRD Parker)
