The club was founded in 1937 and previous club names include Nuneaton St. Nicholas and Nuneaton Town. Kevin Wilkin is the manager of the football club initially taking over as caretaker following the resignation of previous manager Roger Ashby. Kevin Wilkin was officially appointed manager on 28 March 2007.The club colours are blue and white stripes, which had been brought back for the 2006/07 season after being scrapped for the 2005/06 season. Boro's local rivals include Hinckley United, Bedworth United, Atherstone Town, Tamworth, and Coventry City. The club played their final game at Manor Park, on 28 April 2007, in a 1-1 draw with Vauxhall Motors, Gez Murphy scored Boro's last goal at the ground from the penalty spot. The club are set to move to a new stadium for the beginning of the 2007/08 season which they will share with Nuneaton Rugby Club. The new 5,000 capacity ground at Liberty Way will be built in three phases, and is due to be completed in December 2008
