**Soon to take Chicago and the rest of the world to follow by storm in 2006-07 is a sultry sexy R&B artist who goes by the name of Karess. Dont let the name fool you because this artist not only has a soft sexy voice but she also has strong heartfelt vocals that will Karess you in a different way- through your soul. Her music is pretty versatile no two songs sound a like. With a combination of R&B, Pop, Rock and Jazz this artist aims to leave no stone unturned. Born in Chicago, this artist started singing at the age of nine. Some of her influences include Stephanie Mills, Tina Marie, Donna Summer, Mary J Blige and Janet Jackson. She performed at many venues such as the Regal theater, Arie crown Theater & the Cotton Club. Shes opened up for such hip hop artists as Crucial Conflict, Twista, & C.O.G She also got accepted to the Goodman School of Theater at DePaul University where she majored in acting. She just finished working on her 1st album entitled Food For Your Soul. She has written all of the songs on her album and has co- produced some of the music as well. Karess's style is Universal. It transcends all barriers from new school to old school, from black to white. I not only write about my life experiences but I also write about what Ive learned from them as well and hopefully someone whos going through the same thing can learn from it too, explains Karess. The first single that she is planning to release off her debut album is called OH!. This is bound to be one of the hottest club joints of the summer! Karess recently teamed up with legendary hip-hop artist KRS-ONE to do a remix of the song Food for your Soul. "I feel that this is the right time for this song because of whats going on in our country today. I want to help make a difference in peoples lives and give them some inspiration and encouragement no matter what theyre going through." explains Karess. Karess is currently working a new material for her next project which will test the waters with certain subjects (controversy? Hmmm?). "This upcoming project is sure to take me to the next level not only as an artist, but as a songwriter as well, so WATCH OUT! " Karess is interested in writing songs for other artists in the industry as well, and has been quoted as being "the next hottest female singer/ songwriter to come out of the Midwest!"
