Pocketful of Change is a punk magazine and small record label. We are not a band!
The Magazine
Pocketful of Change magazine comes out every other month (kind of) and
comes with a free comp cd of music from bands that we interview or
review in that issue. Each issue features interviews with a wide range
of punk bands, activists, and artists as well as tons of music, book,
dvd, and zine reviews. The magazines are distributed for free in cities
throughout the US (see our website for a list of locations) and are
available for sale online for those of you who don't live in our
distribution areas.
The Label
We put out our first release, Fleeced by Public Access, in August 2005.
Public Access play hardcore ska-punk with tons of energy - anyone who
has seen them play live can attest, it's pretty much impossible not to
have a good time at one of their shows! Their new 6 song ep finally captures
that energy and shows off just how far they've come since their
formation in 2000. Sure, we're biased, but these reviews aren't...
"Public Access are a band with a consistent ability to create jittery,
raw, ska-tinged punk-rock anthems that keep listeners craving more."
-absolutepunk.net
"Public Access provides listeners with some of the most inspired and
near-perfect slices of punk/hardcore/ska music ever. " -neufutur.com
"Public Access' newest effort Fleeced is a solid little ska-punk
offering." -punknews.org

Demos
We just started out and we aren't about to go on a signing frenzy, but
we are accepting demos and if your band really stands out we'll
seriously consider releasing your music. Right now we are primarily
interested in bands with a classic punk sound, so we're probably not
going to sign your emo, hardcore, or metal band. But we'll review all
the demos in the magazine (unless you ask us not to) so it's worth it
even if we don't end up releasing your band's music. If you are sending
demos for label consideration, please write us a note making that clear,
otherwise we'll assume it is only being sent for review in the magazine.
