THRUSTMUSIC BIO:
"Jacobi Wichita came to life in 2006 in the wake of several successful projects, (Athena Surrender, Defeo Jr., Etc.), all of which showed pure talent and raw emotion. We first spotted these kids in our travels, having noticed them for their deep roots in their local scene and community. Everyone knows them - They know everyone. But they don't let it get to their heads. They're much too ADHD to be concerned with local stardom and busier philosophizing on being anti-brand, anti-product, and writing their next piece of music from deep within their guts. The kids from Jacobi Wichita lay it all on the line with every song they play, and they leave no doubt that they believe what they're putting out there. They live it to the fullest. Through watching these guys grow up as a band, you get the sense that they don't care if they ever 'make it' by anyone else’s standards, so long as they carve their name in the tree and mark their territory along the way. Intense dedication mixed with incredible musical knowledge, as well as a strong desire to stand out from so many ‘sheep-like’ bands, is what JW is all about.
After three successful years bringing the house down at our end-of-summer ‘Slamfest’ event, a partnership was inevitable. But don't buy into the hype; they are still the down-to-earth, DIY artists that they were prior to joining the team. Now they just have more resources along the way and a family of bands and a record label to call home. It is with great pride that we have welcomed Jacobi Wichita to the official roster of Thrust Music bands."
In December of 2007, the band finished recording of their debut album, ‘Bonez Malone’, under the direction of renowned producer John Naclerio of Nada Studios in New York. And in February 2008, the band finished it's first feature Video, directed by Jeff Marr of Swimhunk Productions -- check it out below. The album is scheduled for national release in April of 2008.

"Jacobi Wichita is a relatively new band made up of local music vets out of Norwalk, CT that manages to artfully blend 10,000 genres, so something like that, all at once. Imagine something like old Glassjaw (if the members liked Deftones and indie rap) with lots of experimental stuff that you can sometimes dance to, sometimes sing a long to. The end result is just good and something you need to actually hear."

"....an energetic, original sound that's almost psychedelic. They're a little bit Linkin Park and little bit Mars Volta, but not as epic. They're proud to be their own blues-funk-hip-hop entity."
-Fairfield County Weekly
"....These dudes are the future of gratuitous rhythms:Imagine Daryl Plaumbo with road rage beating up the whole band of Between the Buried and Me at a Beach Boys concert and leaving them for dead while all the members of Refused run away screaming in high-pitched terror. These guys are all about keeping the pimp hand high."
