Fab is better known as the manager of Divine Comedy Records, created back in 1996 and Kaleidoscope's records shop during 14 years in Marseille. He designed a lot DCR records, covers for legendary Sonne Hagal and also books or magazines covers, then some further productions with more to come ...
See here some works;
http://divineco.records.free.fr/pages/guests_fab.htmFab was born back in 1968... nothing more to add... Simply involved into underground music till 1981, becoming close friend to such person as JM Dauvergne or Yves Cheynet (Martin Dupont's designer), he slowly began to do strange drawings and oil on canvas with a winner price gained in 1992.Pictures and design were always there, as well as music and litterature... Regular exhibitions in strange places (excepted "Le Grand Palais" back in 1993 ) show his quite distorted art. Collecting rare and weird records, he also had his own band, Kulfi, that released 3 records & played with Sonic Youth as opening act back in the 90's.He also loves nature, friends (let's say DCR is now a friend affair!!!), beautiful girls and french red wine. He's recently finished and printed three picture's books with his own pictures, "Univers Carceral" with H.I.V+/Mourmansk150/Babylone Chaos's musics, "Paradise Now" with AQL/H.I.V+/Muckrakers's musics, "Pere-Lachaise" with Horologium/Foundation Hope/Project Winter/Artefactum's musics...

H.I.V+ "We Are All Haunted Houses"
DC 053/produced with Caustic Records -(CD)
2007 (750 copies) -
"We Are All Haunted Houses" is the 6th opus from HIV+, one of the leading
figure from the "Made in France" Industrial Culture.
With this new album (easily described as its darker and disturbing one),
Pedro Peñas Robles succeed in making tangible the worst childhood
nightmares.
Deeply influenced by coldwave and punk sounds from the early 80's, this
release also benefits from the contribution of external musicians such as
Lambwool, Electric Press Kit, Normotone (Neon Cage Experiment) and Riotmiloo
with an acoustic approach. The Talented remixers Tannhauser and Bak XIII
complete the casting.
Both artwork and layout were created by the painter Wladd_Mutagéne making
this work a "must have" in the already impressive HIV+ discography.
LAMBWOOL
DC 051 - "...And The Angel Is Gone." (CD)
2008 (500 copies) -
"Fading Landscape" is already a classic and Divine Comedy Records is proud to enter new paths with this 51th release... what a better title for DC than "...And The Angel is Gone" after the "Inferno" release, closing a decade ?
The music keeps the direction of the first Lambwool effort, a delicate but strong ritual and symphonic music.
Peter Bengtsen illustrates this album with some enigmatic pictures about departure and solitude. With the addition of vocals by Sigma from Komplex, "...And The Angel is Gone" is simply both sensual and ethereal.
CRUISE [CTRL]
DC 054 - "I Heard It!" (CD)
2008 (500 copies) -
Let's be straight : This album is loud, claustrophobic and danceable at times. Rythms are obsessives and vibrations got us mad here at DC GQG ! By now, you've certainly discovered their wonderful contribution "Crow's Nest" with Imminent to the recent v/a "Electronic Manifesto 2" on Divine Comedy Records.
The name of the project (originally Cruise Control) comes from a kind of addiction to some composition rules : all tracks at 120 bpm with minimalist structures, using analogical materials only, few samples and red lights during live-sets.
C-Drick, Communicatin Zero, Member n-0176, Roswell Conspiracy and Sulphuric Saliva brilliantly added some bonus remixes.
Darkness and beats may show some reminiscences from the 80's... but this music comes straight from the 2000's ! Just feel the experience of these electro-industrial landscapes !
ARCAIDE
DC 055 - "Cyclic Sound From The Forms" (CD)
2008 (500 copies) -
Arcaïde's influences mainly derive from the surrealistic and industrial movement. Here, we can quote Pink Floyd, Aphex Twin, Sielwolf & Einstürzende Neubauten, but also Luis Buñuel, David Lynch, and writers such as Tristan Tzara, André Breton & Lovecraft.
This audio/visual work will be presented in a nice digisleeve... a weird packaging for a very weird release!
HOROLOGIUM/Moljebka Pvlse
DC 056 - "Penfield Mood Organ" (CD)
2008 (350 copies) -
Back in 2005, Divine Comedy Records released the first ever Horologium's fulll lenght. Three years later the discography is impressive : DCR, Steinklang, O.E.C, Neuropa, Cynfeird, Blade, BOP...For the third time, DCR is working with Horologium (just remember the abyssal and beautiful v/a "Père-Lachaise") on a split release with Moljebka Pvlse. This new opus entitled "Penfield Mood Organ" is about a device from P.K. Dick's book "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"... A box destinated to induce emotions and feelings to people. This release is definitely the coldest to date for Horologium. Divided into three evolutive parts and quickly diving into lurking sadness, "Penfield Mood Organ" initiate the feeling of something tragic soon to be unleashed... "So I left the TV sound off and I sat down at my mood organ and I experimented. And I finally found a setting for despair… So I put it on my schedule for twice a month; I think that's a reasonable amount of time to feel hopeless about everything..." Philip K. Dick "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"
