Deaf Machine is a project from the Nyköping/Oxelösund region of Sweden, which houses many legendary names like Megaptera, The Protagonist and Morthound. One of these legends is Mikael Svensson, the person behind Deaf Machine and founding member of Megaptera.Deaf Machine started in 1991 as experiment to make music at home without computers or otherwise advanced instruments. Its original concept was to try to have a more lo-fi analogue attitude in comparison to Megaptera, while at the same time influences by Controlled Bleeding, Lustmord and Tesco bands like Anenzephalia and Genocide Organ were incorporated in the sound.Besides two very obscure self-released tapes, the only other marks were contributions to legendary compilations such as "In the Butcher’s Backyard" (CMI) and "Death Odors" (Slaughter Prod.). Deaf Machine came, made noise and silently vanished leaving almost no traces. In 2007 the German label Raubbau decided to celebrate Deaf Machine with an ambitious re-release program on two CD’s covering all of Deaf Machine’s work including some unreleased material. The first CD is entitled "Found Noises" and contains one of the tapes, two tracks culled from compilations, and one previously unreleased track. The second one will follow soon. For a detailed discography please visit:
