About Me

Peter NystrÃ¶m (member of now dead band Megaptera) started Negru Voda in 1992/1993. He had already been making music for 5 years in different bands/project, such as FiskebÃ¥tarna, First Aid and Instant Cold Commando. Peter wanted to make music in a slightly different direction than Megaptera did. Big influences are the Steel Works he worked at and bands like The Klinik, Test Department and Laibach. And also not to forget, the scandinavian environment he lives in. Peters uses very little equipment to create the music. He uses all kind of things around him as sound sourses, like for example a broken Autobahn-single, which he glued together and used as a loop. Also distorted radiowaves, voices etc. He still records some of the tracks to tape, to keep that lo-fi analog feeling. Rhythms and effects are Negru Vodas most important tools. "With effects you can create a great sound out of nothing", Peter said in an interview in Aftonbladet.Negru Vodas first release is a split-tape together with best friend third EYE (Magnus SundstrÃ¶m), released on Slaughter Productions in 1993. A bunch of releases as come out since that, on labels like Cold Meat Industry, Formosan Records, Autarkeia and Fin de Siecle Media. One philosophy Peter has, is to release in many different formats. Negru Voda is true Nordic industrial workers-music!

The Våld de Luxe 3-CD box that was supposed to be released by Autarkeia is cancelled. I will add new info as soon I have something.
