Fiskebåtarna

Peter Nyström (Megaptera, Negru Voda etc.) and Magnus Sundström (The Protagonist and Des Esseintes) started FiskebÃ¥tarna in 1987. Met in school in the 6th grade and became friends. They both were very much into music, especially electronic music. Bands such as The Human League, Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Indochine, Howard Jones and Simple Minds. Magnus also listened to Madness and owned 7 Lp’s. Peter tried them, but he found out that the music was impossible to like. First tracks to be recorded were Ã…rets Norrman and Tvilling. They borrowed a Yamaha DX-21 and a Roland TR-505 drummachine, from MÃ¥rten Kellerman (Cell Divison, Hello in TV-land, Statemachine, Each Dawn I Die) and Jörgen"Nollan""Leo"Josefsson (Cell Division, Statemachine, Lowe, Johan Japan). The drummmachine also worked as a sequenser. They häpnade over how easy it was to record high quality synthpop. In 1989 they played their first concert at FritidsgÃ¥rden in Oxelösund. The audiance fell in trance, and had to get carried away in ambulance. Not because the band played with such a confidence, but because Peter sometimes sung, as that can kill people. The manager, Charlie, told them that they were not welcome for a second gig. The concert is released on a self produced tape, called Gravsten. Artwork made by Roger "KRK" Lundberg. In 1991 they played their second and last gig. This time in Nyköping. The video was filmed by Mr. Lundeberg, and is not possible to get on DVD’r, together with the 3-CD’r release Tour de BÃ¥t that’s only available for friends for free. So, if you want one, become a friend for at least 10 years!
