Marliec 'DeYega started writing songs since age 11 and he wished R.Kelly had seen some of his work of words. Although, it has taken longer than usual for him to record any of his slow moving songs. Marliec once said "I have wrote my heart out about moments of pain, love, joy, infatuations, weather, people, feelings,..." 'He then noted perfectly well that "I write to define, not to impress but to express and even when I am depressed, I still write to progress from the duress of it all and from that state, emerged the name'- Marliec 'DeYega".Just like many, he has sang in the shower, on the buses and trains across the city of London. At times, he confesses that it's irritating{ smile}but he means well. He thank the spirit above for the talent and all the blessings that accompanied it. "I sing because it makes me happy. It's joy to behold. Marliec 'DeYega has never had any vocal lessons, however he studied his vocals through listenin' to long time influences; BoyzIIMen, Brian Mcknight, Marvin Gaye, R. Kelly, D' Angelo, H-TOWN, Horace Brown, Jill Scott, Dwele, Maxwell, Whitney Houston, Jaheim, John Haitt & Teddy Pendigrass... just to name a few. He is certain that NEW AGE, a fine blend of smooth, yet crisp trace of soul and rnb is his style.His first perfomance came in 1996, when his late father demanded that he sing. He has learnt from his father that every step in Life is heading somewhere. Half the time, this destination is unknown. His mother,{late} once said that, "Life is beautiful, Live it Well". Marliec 'DeYega has interpreted this phrase and he lives by its meaning, always. Death as always been cruel. In 1997, he lost his brother, Dapo{D1}. Marliec 'DeYega stated in an interview about his brother "He is true son of my father and my mother. A mathematician like no other. I miss him. He has inspired me through his love of music. I hope tha he know up in heaven that my nephew, the son he left behind as grown"With constant reminder that Marliec has lost loved ones, he is a happy man who carries so much suave and shows the world that, in moments of hurt, and the pain life has shown, Love, Love has overcome all obstacles.Marliec 'DeYega's first song ever recorded was "Gentle Conversation©"...In the song he croons the melody ..." Gentle Conversation is going through a refreshin' process. In December 2005, Marliec 'DeYega changed tempo- He recorded "Fling Wit' Me©"... He wanted to reach a wider audience. He positioned himself by the table and he wrote... "12:05, I stepped in the club, Huge cristal in a bucket full of ice. It taste so nice, looked across the room, then I see this lady, she's lookin my way, then she flashed a smile, it feels like she'll be mine................so I fought my way, through the busy crowd, she's dancing like fire. she is so hot..." The lyrics , the song, the beat needs to be heard. I am telling you, this dudes' music has style to it. there's a feel of YEGASM to it!SOMAYA was written for Somaya.
