About Me

ALL OF THESE TRACKS WERE RECORDED BEFORE WE HAD SAMPLERS. BEWARE LOVELY OLD TAPE HISS!!

Loop Guru started in 1985 after a chance meeting at a Furniture gig. The pair decided to meet up and make music together. using an old Fostex cassette machine, analogue echo machines, two reel to reel recorders and lining up cassette machines as keyboard players.
This was a time were the Fairlight sampler was £30,000, so that was out of the question. Our only limitation then was the machinery. This is a portion of our back catalogue, some of which we released, slipping the occasional track out here and there, most sits in storage on old cassette tapes. I'll go see what I can find!! "

Loop Guru produced the (as yet) unreleased 'Epic Singing' album. The Transmitters gigged about town and got really busy - so busy that yet again it imploded! The remains of that final lineup became Transglobal Underground and Loop Guru. Methinks you'll find the roots of global techno right here!!!
