Acoustic rock with country appeal .. that is the music of rising singer/songwriter Dusty. With his fresh sound, Dusty is making quite a name for himself in the Nashville scene.
Dusty, 24, has an impressive list of performances in Nashville and has played from Nevada to North Carolina. He also showcased at the New Nashville Music Conference in 2003 and can been seen in rounds at the renowned Bluebird Café throughout the year.
Dusty is currently working with many writers and new artist in Nashville. He released his acoustic album, Long Way Home, earlier this year. The album, recorded at Da House Productions, features all original material, and includes live tracks recorded at the French Quarter Cafe.
Dusty takes his musical influences from artists and writers such as Brian Wilson, Bob Seger, Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 and Jack Johnson. His style and sound directly reflect his admiration of these musical idols.
"I grew up listening to the Beach Boys with my parents," says Dusty. "Brian Wilson is a genius as a songwriter."
Born and raised in Cleveland, Tennessee, Dusty began singing in church by the age of four. He purchased his first guitar his senior year of high school, and he taught himself to play. He gave his first major performance at a café in Cleveland, TN.
Dusty recently graduated from Middle Tennessee State University, majoring in the number one college of Recording Industry in the country. He received his Bachelor's of Science in Production and Technology with a minor in music business. Dusty also served on the Board of Directors of the first ever NSAI student chapter.
"Going to MTSU and being around Nashville to see the industry and how everything works is amazing," says Dusty. "It's great to connect with other songwriters that have songs published and learn from them."
Dusty plans to release a full-production version of Long Way Home later this year. He hopes to continue his writing and obtain a deal with a publishing or record company. Dusty is one to watch in the next few years, and he promises to be a success.

Influences: Everyone from Brian Wilson, to Rob Thomas... the beatles, three dog night, the who, the beach boys, bob segar, louie armstrong, al jolson, jonny cash, the funk brothers, elton john, eric clapton.... stephen curtis chapman, blink 182, dave matthews band, pearl jam, matchbox twenty, john mayor, nelly, incubus, coldplay.... and the list goes on and on and on... there have been so many influences throughout my life when it comes to writing music... i just write about what know and what i feel and hope that it can touch someone else...

LIFE -- can you figure it out?

it's 5:14 and it's slowly slipping away... not time, life. in a movie nothing is really moving& its simply pictures, still pictures, running at a rate of 24 frames per second to spawn the illusion...
