“Its about time someone comes around and brings the Singapore music to a whole new exciting level, and Flybar does just that!†Leonard Soosay, reknowned recording producer.
Every once in a while, comes a band that stretches the imagination of mainstream music. Formed in 2006, Flybar are about to release their debut album “ Scream Without Raising Your Voiceâ€, filled with ultra-catchy, Beatles-esque tunes and incorporatin hints of many other music elements not usually associated with rock music: harmonica, electronic beats, saxophone solos and much more. Amongst the many accolades the band has received, Flybar, consisting of Ian Toh (vocals), Deon (drums), Yado (Bass), Ben (rhythm guitars) and Jon Ong (lead guitars), won the World Battle of the Bands within 3 months of its conception, representing Singapore in Hong Kong in the World Battle of the Bands International Finals 2006 which was transmitted 'Live' internationally via QQ.com and also supported by Channel V. They have shared the stage with Asia rock giants Rivermaya and internationally acclaimed act Jet at Fort Canning Park.
“Scream Without Raising Your Voice†was produced at Snakeweed Acoustic Labs, by Leonard Soosay, the man behind the successes of fellow chart toppers Electrico, Ronin, Great Spy Experiment and Saw Loser etc. Combined with the mastering expertise of well known mastering guru Stephen Marcussen, the tracks have turned quite a number of heads among people who are actively involved in the development of Singapore's unique musical landscape, some even branding the group as “the next big thing in Asia†and pledging their undying support to further aid the band's development.
Their debut single, 'Unforgiven' is set to hit airwaves in the month of December, 2 weeks prior to the launch of the album. Together with impressive corporate and indie shows all lined up (New Year's Eve@D'Marquee, nEbO Beach Carnival@Sentosa, showcases at Timbre, Home Club, Esplanade), plus highly anticipated tours of Australia and the United States, the future of Flybar looks exceedingly bright as they get ready to take to the skies, setting the International music scene alight.
