'Od's Bodkin!

About Me

I am a bass player and carpenter. As a bass player, I have been lucky to go all the way around the world, TWICE, mostly with the MOBY band. As a carpenter, I spent the winter after Katrina in New Orleans. Kind of hard to believe that we have a third-world country right here in the U. S. of A!
Quirk-and-phobia wise, I have a mild issue about phones, and I have to be in just the right frame of mind to call somebody back or even pick up when they call! I apologize to all my friends who wonder why I never call them back, it's not personal, I promise.
I am also the opposite of claustrophobic...claustrophilic? I LIKE to be in small closed spaces, and too much open space makes me nervous.
I have so much antispam stuff on my computer that I cannot see your video, hear your MP3, or sometimes even see that I have new e-mail!
I read maps for fun...especially antique ones. Yes, I'm a librarian trapped in the body of a rock musician!
I like spiders 'n' snakes, but ticks really creep me out, and I can't STAND the sound of styrofoam rubbing on, well, ANYTHING.
And now the whole world knows ALL my most INNERMOST secrets!
I am in THIS MOVIE (click on red type) for about 30 seconds. If you were in a band or into Hardcore from 1980-85, you will like the film. A million interviews and plenty o' live footage too!
I am in THIS BOOK (click on red type) which just came out. Martin is on an endless tour to promote it, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you check out his free seminar if he comes to your town. He was just here in Richmond, Power Point and all, and put on an entertaining and thought-provoking presentation!
If you really want the whole story of me, me, me, please go to my WEBSITE (click on red type) , which will tell you more than you ever wanted to know, and also has one million pictures!
And I'm keeping my "friends" down to 120 people (three pages), so if I haven't played in a band with you, done drugs with you, promoted shows with you, dated you, or you used to practise in my basement, then I will not be adding you. Especially if your page takes more than 10 seconds to finish loading, or gives me seizures. However, you're welcome to go over and be added to MY METAL AND PUNK PAGE !

My Interests

Rock music, power tools, dark chocolate, real estate, and LOLCATS!!!! Also conspiracy theories and gardening.

I'd like to meet:

Whoever invented that Nextel walkie-talkie phone...so I can give him a punch in the neck! Also whoever came up with the term "luxury condos"...same reason!

Music:

I have played or recorded with lots of people. This is a list of everybody I can think of right now (red type is clickable links):

Wasted Talent was my very first band. One cassette album called "Self Rule"
2000 Maniacs was my second band. One cassette album which was re-released on VICIOUS CIRCLE records, which also re-released the Unseen Force LP!
Unseen Force 's 1985 LP, "In Search of the Truth", is now out on Vicious Circle as a CD with a ton o' extra goodies!
I toured with Moby for over 3 years. We went literally around the world TWICE! Woot!
Debbie Harry Band
L7 (I recorded on the "Beauty Process" album)
Pigface (One song on the "Easy Listening" album)
Supla is one of my favorite people and bandmates EVAH!
4 Walls Falling (I was their first bassist)

Hurly Gurlies was an all girl band featuring Fenderella

Dead Blind Gone
Cartel
Flail-o

Patrick Phelan

Have I forgotten anybody? Drop me a line and remind me!

Television:

Yes, as a matter of fact I have been on Letterman twice, Leno twice, Conan once, and SNL once, thanks for asking. Leno is the only host who comes around to the green room and shakes everybody's hand and says hello, therefore he is my favorite!
