Influences: I love all of the Artist past and present who have blessed us with thier presence and honoured us with there talents. The quintessential, dynamic performers who have delivered beautiful sounds while enduring hardship, racism, and poverty. I am talking about Billie Holiday, Mahalia Jackson, Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle and all of the ancestors who have contributed their voices so that singers like me can carry the torch. Yes, I am blessed!I love all music! I love life! I love humanity...My music mentor "Checo Tohomasco" formerly of the Commodores and Marvin Gaye. Who has helped me hone in on my talents for eight years. Singing and performing with the VOC soul gospel choir..my extended fam.I would also like to give up props to my long time bredren and producer, Ras Ibo, whom I have written many songs with. Its about time that you dropped that albumn yo...Big Up to "Smokey Room productions"..soon to be released this fall 2006. My single, "Get away"..is HOT!!!
To my other producer, and homey, Motoe Blizzid. Thank you for making me fall in love with Hip Hop again. You keep it real! I love working with you because you are hella talented homey. Its always a pleasure. The songs that we did are da bomb..Currently, I continue to write songs. Many projects on the go. Pending, in the pre-production stages with "Mr. Mojo" of Morgan Heritage. The making of my forthcoming albumn. I am honoured to have this opportunity. My development as an artist began years ago in Reggae and West African music, dance, and singing. It gave me the fundamentals of music and rythym. I continued writing and creating my own style of melodies to bizarre and eccelectic musical influences. For years I did not have a genre. I seemed to flip flop back and forth in whatever I could get my hands on..I would sing on top of anything and everything. However, generally people cant relate to new sounds...In addition, the music industry has no time for it either. Growing up in Canada, I listened to Rock music and country.I am a sixties baby. I love the sounds of Fleetwood Mac...Stevie Nicks, Rush, and ACDC. Wow, what a transition .... that was my environment growing up. However, soul, and funk..its in my blood. Eventually I realized my true calling and here I am..a bundle of different influences all wrapped up in one single voice. I have soul, it was only a matter of time before it came out..no matter what Im singing.
