Gigi D’Amico half Spanish and half Italian, a producer and sound engineer, born in Catania, Sicily. He started his music carrer working on various local radio stations, and then moved on clubs (Genesi Portorosa-Me) where experienced a lot of years as innovative DJ. Then he moved into technical experience founding the 'Magna Studio Sound' important rehearsal studio in Catania, where David Grabs prepared his performance for the show at Istituto d'Arte in Catania.
In 1995 he began his sound engineer course at Centro Professione Musica (CPM), while working as a sound engineer touring Sicily in support of international artists, including Tom Harrel, Tonino Horta, Rickie Lee Jones, Gloria Gaynor, Temptation, Blonde Redhead, Warmers, and Uzeda.
Over the years he has written and performed music ( Beatle Juice, Somersault). In 2003 D'Amico moved to London, where he has completed in 2007, at Westminster University for the BA (hons.) Commercial Music.
In 2007 he has collaborated with Dented Records (Foreign Beggars). Gigi is also producing music for media and short movies. Gigi is a singer, a dj, a musician, a photographer and a cook, an artist trying to define and express his ego in every single ordinary action.Now he is working on "The Future Sound of Sicily" a production made with the Jews Harp, an old musical instrument a lot used on the traditional Sicilian music, here it's used as sort of pure analogue synth emulation.
In 2008 he creates Dark London records, its brand new Breaktro music concept. the label combines his extensive DJing experience with a researched sound and composition, mixed with passion and professionalism.Dark London is a place where future Breaktro takes shape.
