The heavy metal group Metalsteel began playing in 2000 with four members; Beny Kic - guitars and vocals, Matej Susnik - bass guitar, Jasa Bizjak - drums and Rok Tomsic - guitars. The group first performed at the School's Out festival in the town of Medvode, which is 13 kilometres northwest from the capital city of Slovenia, Ljubljana. The concert was taped on a videocassette. Soon Alex Skofjanec took over the vocals and the band played at numerous concerts around Slovenia. At the end of 2001 the group recorded their first demo track called Metalsteel 1 with five songs. The demo has been introduced to public at many clubs and festivals. Soon US metal magazines Metal Maniacs and Rockbottom published reviews of the demo. One year later the group stepped into a studio for the first time and recorded the song "Novi Svet" (New World). The song was placed on the SLO METAL VOL.1 Compilation, which includes selections of the best Slovenian metal groups. After the compilation was launched, Jasa Bizjak left the band due to disagreements, but soon he was replaced by Dasa Trampus as the group`s new drummer,band recorded a video for "Novi Svet". After that the group had a tour at bikers meetings. The climax of the tour occurred with appearances in Trbovlje at the Satan`s Brothers Biker's Meeting, the largest meeting of its kind. In 2003 the band once again stepped into a studio and recorded a new version of "Novi Svet" and also a new song called "Sadist", which was placed on the Slovenian Play Rock compilation. After that the group played at many festivals, including Rock Otocec, the main rock event in Slovenia. At the Rock Otocec event many famous foreign groups appeared, among them were metal groups PRIMAL FEAR and PAUL DI ANNO. After Rock Otocec, the group took a short break and was preparing for another run at the recording studio. In July the band finally recorded its first album, "Usoda" (Destiny), under the Play Records label. The album, which contains 13 songs, was followed by a few promotional concerts and a few shows with the famous Slovenian group REQUIEM. Further on followed a tour with groups OBIDIL and SARCASM, and a tour with NEGLIGENCE, SUPREMACY and OPHIDIAN. The tour ended with a concert at the Anti X-mas festival with NOCTIFERIA, PROSPECT and others. In 2004 the group recorded a video for the song "Fobia" (Morbid Dread), which was shown to the public in February in the Medvode cinema. The concert was recorded in DVD format, but was never officially released. After this concert the group played in several metal clubs. Season 2004 ended with a very important performance on METALCAMP 2004. The Band played with metal giants like DANZIG, HYPOCRISY, DESTRUCTION,...
After this latest concert, the group took a break because it was working on the new songs for the second album.
Beny Kic takes the vocals on newest album "Taste The Sin", which arrived at the store shelves in December 2005, produced by Mark Lemer in RealTime studio.
Band goes on an all-Slovenian tour! They also played as a support band for legendary HELLOWEEN.
In winter 2005, Metalsteel also shot a new video for "Heavy Metal Is Our Religion".
In summer 2006, Metalsteel signed the contract with Japan Rock
Stakk Records and German Hellion Records to distribute their albums in Germany and Japan.
While continuing their all Slovenian tour, Metalsteel also played with ex-yu pioneers DIVLJE JAGODE,OSMI PUTNIK and POMARANCA and also with legendary heavy metal band W.A.S.P.
In 2007 a project of six Slovenian metal bands (Metalsteel, Forgotten Eden, Sarcasm, Infidia, 7th Angel, M.i.l.f.) called METAL SLOVENIJA recorded Metalsteel song "Heavy Metal Is Our Religion" . Metal Slovenija project also shot a video for this song and a local tv-TV Medvode sponsored it.
In Avgust 007 Metalsteel went to studio Ork and recorded their 3rd album called Bad in Bed which will be out in December 007.Singl from the album Bad in Bed , ballad "Spomin" was chosen for the song of the week on a Slovenian radio Val 202.
The Band released their third album called Bad In Bed in December 2007.
The album is also distributed by Rock Stakk in Japan and Hellion records in Germany.Metalsteel promotes the new album on another Slovenian tour and plans to play some gigs abroad.
