heather jones appreciation society

Heather Jones was born in Cardiff to non-welsh speaking parents. She sang on Welsh T.V for the first time at the age of 16, having mastered the Welsh language both at school and at independent classes. Heather is a solo singer (and song writer), also a guitar player who was a founder member of Bara Menyn with Meic Stevens and Geraint Jarman (arriving in solva, pembrokeshire in the summer of 69 for aforementioned job). She has also sang backing vocals for Meic for over 38 years. Heather was given her own series on B.B.C Wales at the age of 22 called "Listen to my song" named after one of her own compositions. A host of appearances in concerts, pantomimes and musicals followed before she joined a band called 'Redbrass' in the late seventies where Heather Jones worked alongside Annie Lennox. She also appeared regularly on 'Pebbe Mill at One' the popular nationwide lunchtime show. After travelling abroad for many years Heather was given her own series again in the 1990's and is still featured singing on Welsh television and performing at venues and festivals all over the world.
