very own MySpace Layouts ABOUT US:
Dirty Dog are a band formed in the rolling hills on the coast of Pembrokeshire s/w Wales whose musical direction knowsno boundries. whatever takes their fancy they'll play, be it some balls out funk(the dogs personal fave) to chilled reggae jams to some dirty assblues. Their live shows are jam packed full of an energy and passion that never fails to get the crowd grooving to the funky beats! If you have any sort of interest in live performance you owe it to yourself to go check 'em out! ;)Although Tim has branched off to university in London and Scott to Cardiff, that hasn't stopped them from gigging regularly...But come the summer they'll be knuckling down and writing some new material...Funkier than ever!!!WESTERN TELEGRAPH ALBUM REVIEW
This local band seem to be heading into a time warp using reverse thrust, having set the controls to the past by including Hammond organ on many tracks to give the album an authentic period flavour. Yes, they're different from anything else locally, (Ode To A Drone) sounds like a collision of Tom Waits meets Madness down a grim dank alleyway minus the bar-room piano. The album is full of tracks mined from the 60s and 70s with a Doors pastiche (Wild, High And Living) and Dr. John homage (Paths And Alleyways) completed by some Little Feat funk. As with The Blims, Dirty Dog are a good time party band, which could account for the title of this self-release CD. More than competent at a local level.
