The project Ancient Dome was born in 2000, thanks to the will to play something like Bay Area Thrash, and thanks to the friendship of Paul (Guitars), Pech (Guitars) and Cuzzo (Bass Guitar), after the break-up of the previous band Emblema, simply a cover-band. Syra (Drums) answered to one of the countless announcements published; he was previously the drummer of a Death Metal Band, Widow of Maidenhood, searching for someone to thrash. At the beginning, the proposal was much more concentrated on classic metal, like the more representatives groups, until it finally came, after two years, to the construction of a new sound based on the Bay Area Thrash, but also debtor to the other influences of the members. We try to ricreate the atmospheres of groups like Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, Slayer, Exodus, Kreator, Overkill and so on, mixing the thrash sound with a little bit of melody. In 2004, Pech decided to leave the band; reasons have to be found in studies and other responsibilities. He was replaced by Ale, who was previously engaged in classic and power metal bands (Aerise e WarHammer) and decided to improve a new “sensation”. The band is now composed of four members, always searching for the fifth element to help us kick some fuckin’ asses... In 2005 AD recorded their first EP, which obtained good responses from the reviewers, but first of all from the metalheads, who started to follow our music and to support us while we're on stage. In 2006/2007 the band started to play live continuously, supporting great realities from italian underground (such as Wine Spirit) and finishing with a performance during a "Meet & Greet" with the metal legend Virgin Steele. In June 2007, Syra decided to leave the band for personal reasons, and now Joe is his successor behind the drum set... What we want is to continue to create our personal music, against people who try to destroy the Italian Heavy Metal Underground Movement!!!!!!!!!!!

Gli Ancient Dome nascono nel 2000, dalla volontà di muoversi verso sonorità care alla Bay Area di Paul (chitarra), Pech (chitarra) e Cuzzo (basso), a seguito dello scioglimento del precedente progetto (Emblema) che proponeva un genere musicale decisamente più soft; tutto questo, affiancato alla crescente necessità di creare un proprio sound ed un proprio stile, ha portato alla nascita vera e propria della band. Il gruppo viene completato da Syra, batterista reduce da una passata esperienza in campo death totalmente devoto al genere. La proposta degli esordi si muove verso lidi classic metal, sulla scia dei gruppi più rappresentativi, per arrivare nel 2004 ad un rinnovo totale della scaletta ed all’arrangiamento di proprie composizioni. I gruppi di riferimento sono rintracciabili nei primi Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, Slayer, Exodus, Overkill, Kreator e in tutti gli altri nomi portanti del panorama thrash internazionale. Nel 2004, Pech decide di lasciare gli AD, pensiero maturato già da parecchio tempo a causa di impegni universitari ed extra che lo vedono partecipe. Al suo posto entra Ale, precedentemente impegnato in band classic e power metal (WarHammer e Aerise), che decide di “toccare con mano” un genere al quale non si è mai avvicinato se non grazie all’ascolto dei gruppi più conosciuti. La formazione si fissa nuovamente sui quattro elementi, rappresentativa dei primi gruppi thrash (chitarra-voce, chitarra, basso e batteria), e abbandona le speranze prima, l'idea poi, di trovare uno screamer adatto e con la medesima voglia. Il 2005 vede l'uscita del primo omonimo EP della band, ben accolto dalla critica ma soprattutto dal pubblico, che comincia a diventare consistente e a seguire la band con grande partecipazione. Tra il 2006 ed il 2007, la band comincia ad incrementare il numero di live, e tutte le esperienze si dimostrano positive; gli spettatori non mancano di ringraziare per la coerenza di quattro pazzi ancora legati al sound degli eighties... Di supporto a band come i Wine Spirit, e forte dell'accompagnamento live ad un Meet & Greet con i Virgin Steele, la band comincia a farsi un nome. Nel Giugno/Luglio 2007 Syra lascia la band per motivi personali, e viene rimpiazzato nel Settembre dello stesso anno da Giorgio. La band è attualmento in studio per la registrazione del primo full-lenght, per poi cominciare nuovamente una stagione live che si prospetta decisamente interessante...
