Hi Y'all! Well, I am David West of SoCal! Some call me "Canyon Man" and I don't mind, since I do live some what in a Canyon. Surounded by the beautiful SoCal Mountains, my life is like a song on a movie. I live right near the Blue Cloud Movie Ranch, and it's like the cameras are rolling all-day-and-night.
I grew up singing with some of Country Music's best... Merle Travis was one my regulars to sit and sing with. We would sit on his front porch and he would pick, and I would write some pretty crazy songs. You see, I was only 8 years old! Yep, I would hang out with Little Jimmy Dickens (he said I was the shortest in the room, not him :) and we would sing some goofy stuff while Tex Williams, Merle and My Dad played some pretty awesome licks! Guys like Cliffie Stone and Monty Montana would stop by some-times and join in the fun.
Merle was teaching me about over-dubs when I was 9. Then I hooked up with Stephen Pearcy when I was working with a band in Hollywoood. I always loved Ratt tunes, and Steve was a master with over-dubs. It was a true pleasure working with him.
Dustin' Off The Barrel - It's the truth! I am currently dustin' it off and gettin' back on and ready to ride to the top. With my broken heart, I will be working more with the guitar, and my goal is to bring my true music forward for all to hear. Stay Tuned!!!
