26 year old Secondary School Teacher and talented performing artist, Tania Costa has been in love with music since age 6 when she began playing the piano and singing. Over the years she has been influenced by many talented artists such as Whitney Houston, Madonna, Lara Fabian—North American dance/freestyle artists such as Rockell, Lil’ Suzy, Kathy Phillips, Alexia Phillips, Elissa, and Freda and international artists such as Cascada, D.H.T., Lasgo, Groove Coverage, and Sylver.
Also, she is inspired by her love for Portuguese fado and fadista Mariza and the late Amalia Rodrigues have influenced her vocally.Her vocal styling has brought her far through out the years and led her to record her very first single, "I Wonder Why" which was featured on Z103.5 Tony Monaco's "Euro Invasion IV". Tania also had the honour of having her re-make of "Save the Best for Last" featured on fitness guru Richard Simmon's “Super Sweatin'†Cd.
Tania also sings Portuguese fado and sings with internationally known Portuguese guitar player Antonio Amaro and his trio. This has been a powerful experience for Tania.Tania's always had a passion for singing but her dream was to become a teacher. She received her Honours Degree in Religious Studies with a minor in English and then went on to receive her Bachelor of Education. Her heroes are the teachers who have inspired her to be the educator that she is today. Teaching is truly her vocation and she says that she laughs everyday, 50 times a day.
Tania loves life and feels that, "The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed." She feels that there are so many simple joys in life that people tend to forget so she tries to enjoy life and all it has to offer her.Tania's LATEST PROJECT includes a project under the name AZURIA where she is working with talented music producers both locally and in Germany. "Forgive Me" was the first song released by Andorfine Records in August 2006. It landed on German dance charts immediately following it's release and had much success.
