About Me

I am and once was The Marchioness of Persia. There is a great mystery about my life and my death. Most of which will remain . . . I love a good mystery. Don't you? I will tell you this. . .
I came into my own during the Safavid Dynasty in Persia during the late 1500's and early 1600's. I was given a gift of immortality, yet it is also my curse. I experienced the collapse of my country in the the 18th century. The shas of that time period lost the love and respect of me through their pride and chauvinism. I became greatly saddened and eventually moved into obscurity for my life's sake. For though I am immortal, am ageless, and immune to disease I can still be killed by accidental or willful harm.
I have revealed this much now and may choose to reveal more later as the loneliness of my agelessness has taken it's toll. The rapid growth of the internet has created a virtual ageless companion. Now, I partially come out of hiding to reveal my truth and create new friendships.
Though my religion is basically Islam and is theistic in nature our lore is steeped in something more ancient. The Narts, our ancient ancestors, gave me my immortality. I was dead and in my death I experienced the saga, "The Flower of Satinay".
One day Lady Satinay came across a beautiful flower behind a forest pit on the bank of the Kuban (Pshize in Hetiqwey, Psizch in Kabardian. Literally: the Great River).
"I will plant this exquisite flower at the threshold of our house so that those who see it are filled with wonder, and will marvel at its sight!" she said, and brought it back home.
She planted the flower and the next day she looked at it: its leaves had wilted - the flower had withered. This made her very sad.
One day she brought back another flower of the self-same kind. "This one, I hope, will escape the fate of its sister," she said. Then, like the first she planted it in her front garden. Again, this one also drooped and dried.
She brought back another plant. "Unlike its predecessors this one will not dry," she said, and planted it at the threshold. But alas, this one's leaves also wilted.
"Why didn't I leave it to grow in the forest pit," she said in regret. Suddenly, dark clouds gathered, and it began to rain. The next day when she looked the flower had revived.
Lady Satinay became very happy. The rainwater had breathed life into the flower. Henceforth, mankind came to appreciate the benefits of water. "Water is equivalent to the soul," said the Narts.
Lady Satinay revealed to me that I was that third flower. I awoke to find myself still in the preparation chambers for my death.
Lady Satinay is the mother of all Narts, is exquisitely beautiful, creative, and extremely wise.
My re-birth name is Satinay.
So now I live here, in an abandoned castle in the Forgotten Forest. It turns out not to be too far from the Isle of Avalon. I reside here in secret so that I may try to unravel the mysteries of my re-birth and possibly the resurrection of my "love". I believe that all of this has happened for a reason and am hoping it becomes clear soon. To just have woken up here as if I fell asleep one night and awoke the next morning is so strange a feeling. For I know it was hundreds of years later. How did I get here? Who helped put me here? Is it all just magic? I want to know the secrets of this mystery for it haunts me in my dreams. . .

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

The painting you see above me is of my lover. History has recorded him as a great painter. I will keep his name to myself for now. Out of my long life and the men I have encountered, this is the only one who ever truely had my heart. If I had but one wish, it would be to be with him again. The years have been long and lonely without him. How I miss you my love . . .

I have recieved a communication from a friend that has troubled me greatly. It seems my good friend Lady of Avalon has reported seeing a mysterious man on the Isle of Avalon. According to her he bears a striking resemblence to my long dead lover. Is it possible that he has found a way to rise? Is it possible that he would know to look for me? How would he know that I have wandered all these centuries without him? I will have to contact Lady of Avalon in hopes that she will have more information for me . . . .
